Given away or sold most I ever owned:

Mac Classic
Mac Classic II
Mac IIsi
Mac IIci
Mac LC
Mac IIfx
Centris 610
iMac G3 233
iMac G4 800
PMG4 dual 500MHz
PMG4 DA 466MHz
PMG3 400MHz
PBG4 500MHz
PBG3 333MHz "Lombard"
plus countless StyleWriter printers, StyleWriter II and 1200 were in there but there were others.

Still got:
Mac SE FD/HD
PMG4 Cube (immaculate, still in box)
PMG4 MDD
PBG4 1.67GHz 17"
PMG4 QS 800MHz
PMG4 dual 533MHz
PMG5 dual 2.5GHz
Mac Pro 8-core 2.8GHz
a stack of iPods and iPod Touches and an Apple TV.

I only use the PMG5 just now, with the MDD for extra storage and up 24/7 as an everything server (MySQL, Oracle, iTunes, Retrospect, HTML, iTunes Audio, etc, etc.). My 3yo son uses my Mac Pro, put a big ding in the aluminium the first week I had it, I don't know how.
The QS and the DA dual 533MHz will go soon, maybe pay for a 2TB drive for the Mac Pro.

Me too. But the person I gave it to was going to use it, and I wasn't, so I gave it instead of the older IIsi / IIci at the time.

Wish I'd kept the Classic II also, instead of keeping my SO slow SE. But again, they were both on a shelf and they wanted a Mac to use.

Nearly gave away my brand new 1.67GHz PBG4 (unused BNIB) when I came to give away the old Lombard PBG3 to a retirement home, I loved it so. Common sense prevailed in the end.

Seen 2 IIfx's and a few Quadra 950's come up on eBay UK over the last few months. Very tempted, the Q950 went for only £2.50, but I already have more than I want. And if they're not being used, it's just a waste - my Cube is the exception, it's a thing of beauty.

My Apple products in chronological order:
1st-gen iPod Shuffle 512mb
23" Apple Cinema Display
1st-gen Mac Pro 1.1 2.66 quad
3rd-gen iPod Nano
mid-2007 1.83 Mac mini 2.1
20" Apple Cinema Display

in transit: 16gb 3G iPad

Also there's some Apple Keyboards, Mice and the peerless iSight.

All have been just great. The best "technology" products I've ever used.
Really wishing that I ignored the advice of others and started on Macs earlier. But... the computer guys always said Macs are a ripoff. I foolishly believed "them".

Oh well.
Better late than never!

Keri

I was offered an iMac G3 in blue a year or two ago but didn't take it.

Always wanted a G4 Cube.

I have a very small collection. I had my iPods and a Newton, but I never owned an actual Mac. I was given an iMac G3 for free, and when I played with OS X for the first time, I was hooked.
So far:
- iMac G3 600 mHz, 256MB RAM, 30GB drive, running 10.4.11. I use it every day, despite its age. It's still faster than my laptop running Win XP, which is hilarious.
- 32GB iPod touch, 3G
- 80GB iPod classic (not shown)
- MessagePad 2000
- Macintosh Plus 1MB (actually the very first computer I ever used, back in 1987, that I saved from the scrap heap. It was going to be thrown away by a relative, despite the fact that it is in immaculate condition and still works after 23 years. )

I'm still surprised that it was going to be thrown away. All i had to do was wipe the casing off and it was perfect. No scratches, no smoke residue, nothing. It's strange to still be able to use a computer I played games on when I was 5 years old.
The disks all still work, too. I'm wary, though, since they're 23 years old and I don't have any blanks to back them up. I've heard that 25 years is near the upper limit of life on floppies.

^^^ Get yourself an old SCSI Zip drive - it makes a nice substitute for failing floppies, and when compared to an external hard drive, has the added advantage of being silent when not reading or writing.

Better to have a few in good condition than a lot in poor condition. A lot of these were in schools or offices etc so have discolouration, scratches, stickers, even writing and other damage on many of them.

Near perfect condition is very hard to come by, usually exactly as in your situation, somebody who used it a bit personally then it went into storage for 2 decades. And again as per your situaton, many of those people just junk them anyway when they eventually do clear the attic/garage out so you have to be johnny on the spot or it's gone forever.

I really didn't think about that. I'll have to acquire one soon and start the copying process. As long as it's a SCSI Zip drive, it will work?
It was starting to worry me that I may end up with a machine that works, but no disks to put in it.
