also, if you only have one iTunes account tied to you're iPod/iPhone, you can still re-download apps on the fly without paying again.

yes but there were rumors saying that you wouldn't be able to download already bought apps on the iPhone/iPod anymore even if you only had one iTunes account. they said you can download them again for free from a computer but you would have to pay again if you downloaded them from the iPhone/iPod. i'm guessing this is only true if you have more than one iTunes account tied to your device.

I thought that having the battery percentage was a feature in 3.0 but I can't find it anywhere, am I mistaken or just stupid?

As I understand it you get that pop up on free apps (Things is free) and you get the old pop up saying you can re-download for free on paid apps.

That's the messed up part, it does work occasionally. More often than not, though, that message pops up.

It's way too easy to log into a friend's iPhone with your account and download an app that you bought for your friend to use for free. I have a feeling that if Apple has to balance protecting developers versus the convenience of re-downloading an app on the fly rather than syncing with iTunes, they will fall on the side of the developers. And rightly so.

Nope. I've done it three times now, twice with paid apps (The Sims 3 and Cro-mag Rally) and once with a free app (Backgrounds) and have gotten the "You have already purchased this item. To download it again for free, select OK."

I wonder what the discrepancy is?

Not true. Things is $9.99, btw, not free. (There may be a free version too)

I've gotten the pop up with all free apps I've tried to re-download. Buying those again is fine, though.

I had the same thing happen trying to redownload the PayPal app which is FREE to begin with. Weird. FYI, the PayPal app doesn't work with 3.0.

Could have sworn I saw things in the app store the other day for free, sorry about that. My experience has been as I posted. I have only gotten the option to buy it again with free apps, any paid apps I wanted to re-download I have gotten the "You have already purchased this app, to download it again for free press OK"

NEW: On the stop watch app, when you hit lap, instead of the timer starting at 0 it keeps going but has a second timer in the top right hand corner.

In the camera app in the lower left hand corner where you would click to go to the Camera Roll instead of a generic logo it shows you a small preview of last photo in the roll.

EDIT: Also, the location popup in the camera now includes a description of why it is asking permission to use your current location.

Just curious, how many iPhones or iPod touches have you owned? Even if you replaced it at the genius Bar.

There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason yet. Pretty frustrating. Good to hear you at least have had some "success." I'm always getting that annoying screen.

many many many.

Between the 2 replacement iPod Touches, 2 Original iPhones, and an ungodly number of 3G replacements, I'm not sure I could even guess. Double digits.

Sorry for double post. Forgot this forum doesn't auto-merge them.
