Quick question as far as restoring a backup from an old device to a new device. As I'll be upgrading from an iPhone 3G to a 3GS... I'd like to leave the software on my 3G pre-3.0 as it'll probably fetch a better price on ebay. Now, when I get my 3GS I'll simply swap the SIM and I'd normally do a restore from backup..*select recent backup* and presto, done deal...everything is there. However...I cant remember and google results havent been clear, this doesnt affect the OS correct? as in if I restore from my old iphone pre-3.0 to a 3.0 3GS...it wont downgrade my new phone? make sense?
Simply: Does restoring a backup affect the OS or just apps/sys settings/configs....?
