My 13" MacBook Pro has the 9CA0 LCD. I figured out it is a Chi-Mei. The LCD panel code is N133I6-L06. Seems like everyone who has their 13" MacBook Pro's all have the 9C9F LCD's.

The 9CA0 looks great to me! WAAAAY better than the previous MacBook screens!

Run this in a terminal window:

ioreg -lw0 | grep IODisplayEDID | sed "/[^<]*</s///" | xxd -p -r | strings -6

Reply back with the result.

Why is that yuck? Samsung makes some of the best LCD screens in the world. Just look at their TV's. :D

The Samsung screens are known to be the worst out of the four manufacturers. From what I've heard LG-Philips, Chi Mei, and AUO are the best of the bunch. I've already noticed a problem with my panel: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/716467/. If anyone else can re-produce it I may try to get my new MacBook Pro swapped out this weekend.

LP133WX3-TLA1 is mine.

looks perfect and they increased the color depth compared to the older 6 bit screens

LTN133AT09 is actually an LG Philips Screen (branded Samsung). I also have it in my new 13" MBP.

It's night and day compared to my old one.

Any pics by chance? I can't wait a day to compare them myself.

Screens on the 13" MBP

At the local Apple store I found these screens on the 13" MacBook Pros on display:

9C9E
9C9F
9CBD

A previous post has a 9CA0 Chi-Mei?

Can someone fill in the manufactures of these displays?

I checked the new displays to determine if I wanted to replace my 13" Collector's Edition MacBook with the new 13" MacBook Pro.

IMO the new displays are definitely better, but no enough to justify replacing my current MacBook.

My panel is 9C9E. Terminal says LTN133AT09. However, I am experiencing a problem with color saturation. Specifically, blue appears purple. All links which are supposed to be blue now turn up purple. This is especially frustrating, and I hope Apple can resolve the issue.

There is a thread about this with people reporting similar problems. You may want to search for it. There calling it fluorescent colors.
