Weird Mod..The PyraMac

Not sure it this post is in the right place but...

When I was looking for info on mabou2's clear-cased Mac prototype I found this site:

http://www.riscx.com/pyramac/index.asp

weird, kinda ugly but one helluva mod. Anyone else see this?

odd - but just one pic and the movie doesn't work.

not the best optimization of desk space, though.

Pretty old news...if you look at their index page, the updates end in '03--most people on the PC side got a laugh from this LAST year.

If you check a site like HardOCP or Anandtech, and go through archives you should find a link to this site.

Mav451 - Sorry to post the "old news" - it was new to me. Mr. Anderson - there are a ton of pictures on the site you just have to click on the links on the right.

No that's cool. I'm just kinda interested how you stumbled on that site tho--like I said, various review/hardware sites post this stuff all the time, so I don't have to find it myself.

It looks pretty ok, but not the best ues of desk space like Mr. A said. When I'm building my computer I tend to just buy a normal, plain tower and mod that myself, sortta like this guy.

I wouldn't mind saying I have a one-of-a-kind Mac like this dude.

Mav451 - I found the PyraMac mod on Google when I punched in the phrase "clear mac classic" trying to find info on Mac Prototypes.

windowsblowsass - as far as the iMac mod site you came up with - sick stuff man - whoh. An here I thought "dremmelling" out my old dead SE30 and glueing plexi to turn it into a fishtank was hard - damn - MacFiends never cease to amaze me.

Make your own G4 cheap

I wonder what would take to get an apple computer going from just parts kinda like that guy did with his iMac. I mean, apple motherboards go for fairly cheap on ebay, add a hard drive, rig up an atx power supply and a case. It seems like you could make a G4 computer for less than $200. Am I missing something here, or do people not do this just because of the time involved?

I think it is the fact that they both are trail-blazers (the first ones to do it) that makes it that much harder! Being a cookie cutter is one thing, but doing your own thing takes a ton of confidence and vision.
