I am looking at purchasing either the Switcheasy Rebel or the incase slider or the speck candyshell and i know some of you have either 2 of them or all three so if you could give some insight on the added thickness of each that would be great...or maybe even the texture of each and ease of pulling out of pocket, etc

Oh, and i really wish that Speck would introduce an Icreamshell or something that had some normal colors.

TIA

Can't help you with the thickness ??? but youtube has a bunch of tards that got nothing better to do than review cases:D and i'd get the candy shell but i can't get over the color combo's :(

they all the same, if you will measure i think it will be:
slider < rebel < candyshell
but its like a hairline difference.

I have the Incase Slider in Metallic Red, CandyShell and Rebel Serpent.

While the Serpent looks about the same as the Candyshell, it really feels bulkier in the hand as it's a tad wider in depth which you cannot see in this picture. The Incase Slider is my favorite.

Candyshell shows scratches; the Incase Slider I have does not. I haven't done anything with the Serpent other than to try it on my phone and didn't like the bulky feeling I got from it.

The Incase slider will scratch your chrome to hell as well as the back of the phone. The CandyShell will crack along the bottom near the dock connector. I don't know anything about the Serpent because I've never tried it.

But the CandyShell is my favorite case so far.

great pics.. can we get an angle where it compares the thickness? :)

Or from your experience which adds the least bulk

thanks

I have also had all three.

I like my candyshell for when I am outdoors simply because little can get into the case, and I trust it for drop protection. The same goes with the serpent. I know that if I drop that thing, it is going to bounce and I'm not worried about dirt. So when I am outside, that is the case I slap on. Bulkiness isn't too bad. But I can say that FOR ME. The candyshell feels the biggest.

In then end. I love my gunmetal slider more than any other case I have bought. I clean it every few days and I have gotten no scratches. I bought the slider while I waited for my candyshell in the mail, now I wish I hadn't. I would have just bought two sliders! They are great cases, and I love the size.

All three are great cases, but IMO the slider is the best of all the worlds. :D

I would call it semi-glossy and yes, you can see the microscratches although the white tends to help in hiding them.

Yes, the CandyShell will show some very faint scratches, though on mine (white/cranberry) I have to hold it at an angle to the light to even see them. Of course, I've only had it since July 6, so time will tell if they get a lot worse, I suppose.

I'm waiting on a pink/lt pink CandyShell from Wireless Rage right now; I'm curious to see how scratches show on it. I'm hoping they won't be awful due to the light color (and the fact that I baby my iPhone even when cased, so the cases don't take a lot of abuse from me).

I also own all three of the above-mentioned cases and by far, the CandyShell's my favorite.

Busted out the dial calipers, and my Rebel on the phone is:

4.716"L x 2.625"W x 0.683"D

The depth was the hardest to measure, with the lip to protect the screen, but I eyeballed the caliper to make sure it was parallel to the screen while I measured the thickest part of the back of the case. I also took care not to squeeze the case with the calipers, which would cheat the measurements.

Anyway, here are the specs of the 3G:

Height: 4.5 inches (115.5 mm)
Width: 2.4 inches (62.1 mm)
Depth: 0.48 inch (12.3 mm)

Not gonna do the math, but at a glance, it looks like the Rebel adds about 0.2 inches all around.
