I don't understand the Airport Express FAQ

Can one connect the AE to a wired-only router and bridge between the LAN and the WLAN while at the same time providing internet access through the router to the wireless clients?

Yes

You can use AE to connect from router to share internet
You can tell AE to use the router's DHCP assignment
