iPod touch *SOLVED* The iPod "iPod" could not be restored. An unknown error occured (20)????

hey guys. i got a new iPod today, its used with the 3.0 firmware and i wanted to restore it to 2.2.1 to jailbreak it but everytime i try to restore i get that error message. what do i do?

sorry if this is repetitive.....
 
i solved it by putting it into DFU mode then restoring it... dont know why i didnt do that before making this thread.....
