Hi,

As the title says, I'm wondering how to update my jailbroken iPhone from version 1.1.4 to the newest version, and I want to do this in a way that I can keep all my text messages that I have on the phone after the update, and preferably also keep my notes.

Does anyone know a safe way to do this? Many of those texts are important, and I can't and don't want to lose them, but I want the latest version!

I use a Macbook with Leopard, and I have the latest iTunes. And if someone tries to suggest that I use Syphone to back up my text messages, I can tell you that for some reason it just crashes when I try to open it.

Thanks.

Restoring from a backup should preserve all that as long as they are in your SMS app.

How? How do I backup, and how do I transfer it back to the iPhone after I have restored and updated it?
