iPod touch how long does it take to back up?

how long should it take to back up my 2nd gen ipod touch running 2.2.1 firmware with the latest itunes
 
depends on how much music and stuff you have on it. Mine takes a few minutes, but I don't have a huge amount of stuff on it.
 
mine is taking a long time. only have about 4 GB total. whats wrong with it? btw im on a vista PC
 
I downloaded the 3.0 software, now my Touch is taking forever to back up, as in the progress bar is barely moving. Any suggestions?

exactly the same as mine. about 60% done now but not really doing anything. first half downloaded in like 10 seconds.
 
the first one you do on 3.0 will take a long time. all the ones after that will go by pretty quick. and btw it has nothing to do with how big your iTunes library is. it only makes backups of iPod settings, calendar events, safari bookmarks, contacts, etc. not the music video and apps
 
still backing up. went up a little bit but same as before just stopped. shuld it take this long cuz this is my first time backing up on this computer.
