Hey guys,
There are many threads on tethering right now, but I wanted to post the method that seems to work for most everyone. I'll quote the original author:
The file he refers to is attached to this message (Thanks again, zilian77).
Note: If you don't understand any of this, chances are you probably shouldn't be doing it.
If IPC is "Greyed Out": When alt+clicking the restore iPhone to put the carrier settings and it is greyed out, remove the file from the mounted disk image first, then select it (from your desktop, for example).
And I reiterate, MMS IS NOT WORKING. We have yet to figure this out. If anyone does get to to definitively work, post here and I'll update this top post. So far we have gotten the camera icon to show up on the Messages.app.

1) download the file attached here and e-mail to yourself, open in mail on iPhone.
2) go to http://9to5mac.com/iPhone-3G-tethering and follow their instructions to get tethering on.
############### Here on is for MMS; not required for Tethering #################
**When you do step 2 "Cellular Data Network" menu appears under "settings" > "general" > "network"
**MMS is not working for me but the icon does show up and you can select pictures but you get an error when sending... (look a past post pic attachment)
3) when "Cellular Data Network" menu appears go to it and type this info there,

Ok heres how you fix your voice mail-
1. Connect the phone to itunes and option click restore
2. Navigate to your user name->Library->iTunes->iPhone Carrier Support
3. Select the file contained within "iPhone Carrier Support" and proceed
You now have your voicemail working again"
6) took out sim and put it back in while restarting the phone.
Theese Instructions are AT&T only! and is what worked for me.
