Is there a way to tell if your battery is no longer rechargeable? I have a Lombard PowerBook G3, and although I've had it plugged in overnight, the battery still blinks empty when I press the hardware button. The icon on the toolbar says 0%, but also says it's charging. 😕

Try taking out the battery and reinserting it. I know this sounds stupid, but it just might work. Other than that, it sounds to me like it's dead. Go to apple.com/support and search for a "characteristics of a dead battery" or something and maybe you'll be able to diagnose its problem yourself.

Best wishes,

🙁 🙁 Well, looks like my battery is dead. Oh well, it's not my primary computer, so maybe I'll buy a new battery when they get really cheap 🙄

Actually, that would have been what I needed, except the battery is completely dead, so it won't recalibrate. 🙁
