Thank you so much. Here are the Japanese commands (the original post should include other languages, so the OP should update)

Only snafu I've had is with the earphones. The center button for press/hold is very close to the microphone so initially, I'd press/hold and keep my thumb/forefinger there and bascially block it. I then pressed/held a little lower down which changed the volume at the same time.
Trying to remember to move my fingers away after the beep so it can hear me.

When I am listening to music in bed, I would really like a voice command for "what's the time", seems pretty basic, but it would be very useful

in the ipod, the top commands that I find most useful are:
"play songs by XXXX" "Play the playlist Tom's iphone selection" (playlist with all of my songs - lets me hop from whatever is playing to the general pool of songs) "genius" or "play more songs like this"

Got my iPhone 3G S yesterday (had a 3G before). This should also be on the older phones.
Anyway this is a feature I really wanted. So far it works great for me. However, now I need a voice command to activate the Speaker. I always use the Speaker while in the car. Anyway to default the speaker on? Maybe App or something?

I've also found that my v-moda vibe earphones, which have the button to control music playback, often engages the voice command prompt when i don't want it to. really annoying

I say: "Play Kings of Leon" iPhone says: "Calling Mark Henley" Of course I have been doing this through the headphones whilst driving, so by the time I get the the phone to cancel (which takes an age, cos you have to close ipod, click the banner to show call options, then click end) they have already answered. I called the same person three times yesterday! |

It seems odd they have missed this option off voice dialing. The only reason I can think of them not having it is the usual Apple 'it works 100% perfectly, so why would you want to say cancel?' I reckon there's a good chance 3.1 will have it. |

Does Voice "learn"? Like the iPhone learns words, and by repeating them, etc. it remembers and nails it at some point?
Has anyone practiced with a tricky band title, etc. that often meets with failure by repeating the words over & over? Or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Can someone tell me how well it deals with an Australian Accent? Our accent has always been the pitfall of most voice control systems.

But i want the sandwitch without getting up. So the proper syntax of that command should be
"sudo make me a sandwich" then "sudo get sandwich"

I sure hope Apple enables in-App voice control for developers.
And you thought people talking loud on phone calls in public was already annoying enough. Just wait. ![]() "Dammmit! I said 'TWITTER, I'M EATING A SANDWICH!!!!!'" (everybody in the room turns and looks) ![]() Although I have to admit, instant messaging with voice to text would be pretty cool. Wells Fargo mobile App: "Account Balance" .... "Your account has .. TWO .. dollars" (everyone in room glances over at you) "Recent Activity" .... "AT&T bill for .. THREE .. hundred .. TWENTY .. five .. dollars" ... I think it should have the "Tell me a joke" command like on the Mac voice control!
Remember back in the day? "Tell me a joke"... then the computer would say: "Knock knock" You say "Who's there" "Orange" You say "Orange who?" "Orange you glad you bought a Macintosh?" |

I really hope this happens but Im not sure it will. It seems like Apple just used the current voice command software that the new shuffles have, and I dont think the shuffles will ever need to launch apps or change settings. But it would be nice if key words accessed different parts of the voice command. for example,
"Play" of course launches the iPod app "Call" you guessed it... "Launch" would launch apps "Change" would access settings. This would eliminate the problem with saying "Play Tool" and it responds by saying "Calling Jon". I would love this to be a one-stop-shop for all the iPhone controls. "Change iPod setting EQ Dance" and the EQ changes to the dance setting. It seems like this function should be available but Im not sure it will be. I would also like to be able to record my own voice commands and assign them to a common command. Like a macro. So I could record myself saying "Change sound to silent, turn Bluetooth ON" and it would do whatever actions I programmed. Also, just a tip, if you have an issue every time you try to play a certain playlist or call a certain person, here is a possible fix. Every time I try to play songs by Tool, it doesnt work. it either calls someone or plays songs from someone else. So I created a playlist with Tool in it and named it ONE. So now I say, "Play playlist ONE" instead of play songs by Tool. Also works for my wife. Her name is Diane but it always thinks Im saying Brian, so I created a second contact for her named... you guessed it... WIFE. Call Wife now works perfectly! |
