No indication of battery flat after upgrading to 3.0

Hey guys,

My battery on the iPhone 3G has just gone flat, and turn itself off, however, I noticed that when I hold down the sleep/wake button, there is no battery with a red battery level flashing anymore. When I hold the sleep/wake, nothing seems to happen.

I first noticed this after upgrading to the 3.0 software. Is this the reason? 😕
