Once you've changed over the chip. Is it difficult to flash if the only other video card you have is a proper Mac GTX 285? I see that it will flash all nvidia cards in the machine, but if it's a legit Mac GTX 285 will it cause issues with that one?

It could be impossible to flash card with blank EEPROM chip in MP. I've tried it with 7800GT and GTX after soldering new chip. My MP refused to boot, no matter what EFI card was installed with this with new chip. All I get was "looped" chime and self restart.
In PC with onboard graphics whole process went smoothly for both cards.

Hmmm.. Ok, I'll give the PC method a crack. I'll have to see if I've got an old PC still tucked away somewhere

Hi Rominator,
i read the whole thread. but i have some questions.

1. should i use a 1gb Version of the card or could it be the 2gb Version
for example is this card ok ? I think the 1GB Version is cheaper.
http://geizhals.at/a417688.html

2. Is the eprom Size on the PC Card (like 64K, 128K) important for exchanging
to this models.
MX MX25L2005 2048Kx1S 2.7-3.6V, 256B page, 4k blk, ID=(C2,2012)
&
SST SST25LF020 2048Kx1S 3.0-3.6V, 256B page, 4k blk, ID=(BF,0043)

3.It is possible to flash the card with a this kind of tools ?
http://desc.shop.ebay.com/i.html?LH_...&_sop=15&_sc=1

4. Is it possible to contact me and sending me the bios.

5. In which mac pro will the card work, if get it to work. Cause i must sell my old G5 Dual cause watercool Leaking and buy a used Intel Quad. (don`t know what model it will be)

6. What is the best price you could buy in LA (was it LA, or Hollywood, ok in USA) (-:
