Restoring iphone 3gs from old 3g backup...however

Since after the 3g upgrade os 3.0, i haven't been able to backup, the backup i'm using to restore my new 3gs is with os 2.2. Is this going to screw something up in my new 3gs? or will it only restore apps and data and not roll my 3gs to the older os?

It won't hurt anything. You can choose whatever backup you want. It won't affect what OS you are using.

Thanks I guess what i was wondering is if i restore my new 3gs phone from a 3g backup made on os2.2, will my 3gs operating system get downgraded to 2.2? stupid question i'm sure, but i just want to be sure

It won't get downgraded to 2.2.
