cydia apps and spyware?

How secure are the apps from cydia? is there a approval process for what gets in the store?

How do we know we ain't installing password/keystroke loggers etc within apps?

Or is that just a risk we take like with any hacked computer device?
 
Well, it's open source so if you add a repository of something dodgy then the apps in that repository could theoretically be harmful. But anything that's already on Cydia is fine.
