Hey all, purchased my macbook from a school district and I can't connect to the update server.
I have 100% connection to internet over wifi but when I run the diagnostic on it why it can't contact the server it tells me it can't reach the school districts server. How can I reset the "proxy" is it? to get it to update and stop wanting to go through the school districts server? Thanks everyone! |

System Preferences--->Network--->Goto the connection type, and click the "advanced" button. From there, there's a proxy tab. Go through there and most likely it'll be listed in the "Automatic Proxy Configuration" checkbox. Just uncheck that box, or whatever other proxy setup is checked.
If your school's network is setup like a corporate network, it'll be the "Automatic Proxy Configuration" box that's checked and filled out.
