Apple Releases Final Cut Pro 6.0.6

Apple today released Final Cut Pro 6.0.6, which addresses issues with real-time playback in Early 2009 Mac Pros and Xserves. The release notes specify that the issue occurs when working with "complex sequences or high-bandwidth media formats."

This is great news. Its so unfortunate that hyperthreading doesn't play well with some key programs.

Behind the scenes, I hope they're rewriting Final Cut Pro from scratch. What else have they been doing these last few years?

Final Cut Studio 2 was released in what 2007?

Hope FCP 3 does come out this September or sometime before the first of the year.

Would love to see better AVCHD support!

Updates are good either way!

Apple better focuse on Logic Pro! Tired of seeing updates of their amateur programs. And if they can't handle with the Pro apps better return them where they bought them from.

Good news, but I'm really looking forward to some Pro Apps updates. Really want a rewrite of Final Cut Pro and a new Aperture as well.

Shame on you Apple!

After a major revision with version 5 dating back to 2005 introducing important improvements (audio routing, multi camera editing), I have waited for a real new version for years but so far nothing! Version 6 introduced mainly the ability to manage file formats, but the core of the application is still the same.

Apple, look at competitors. Edius is managing real time and mixed formats much better, even Premiere Pro has become an interesting program (enough said!).

Frustrating that Apple has put so many efforts on rewriting iMovie from the scratch whilst professionals that trusted Apple solution are still facing bugs that are present from version 1.

Wake up Apple, resting on laurels is never a good choice.

Well none of that happen. What now? Trust that their going for the dollar, which is in the consumer apps not the pro Apps. Might be a good time to start learning Avid. Ever since Apple started making lots of money, that seems to me their only concern. Whats next? editing on a iphone, from my ichair.

Apple doesn't make much money at all with their consumer apps. They ain't getting rich at $79 a pop. I don't expect a FCS3 build based on Leopard to contain features that pretty much require Snow Leopard.
