Okay so back when the 3.0 betas were released to developers, Macrumors reported that Video Recording was imminent in the upcoming 3.0 release.

I was thinking tonight, can video recording be enabled on the 3G, since is it "hidden" in the 3.0 firmware (obviously the quality won't be as good)? Or is it only found in iPhone2,1 (3G S) firmware?

Just wanted to clarify. :)

Thank you

Video is for the iPhone 3GS, it's not supported on the iPhone 3G. You can certainly jailbreak and install CyCorder however, but the quality is nowhere near as good as what the 3GS can offer. :)

To add the video recorder app to the 3g:
Now if you want the video recording software to work then by all means go to your M68AP.plist in SpringBoard.app and add in boolean "video-camera" and set it to 1 for yes in the capabilities dictionary. Presto! You get the video camera software.
