Adding pictures to iPhone 3gs?

Hello, I have a mac and I would like to Add picture on my iPhone. I want to creat a seperate album on my phone for Contact picture. I do not want to use iPhoto.
 
Why? What is wrong with iPhoto?
Then Sync your photos with a folder. But ALL of your synced photos will have to come from that folder.
 
I did just that. I made a seperate folder under my user name. went to Iphoto (wherever you have all your pics) and dragged them into my folder. then I went under my iphone settings in itunes(where you pick what you sync to) and chose the folder option and browse for your folder. it worked for me.
