macOS Quartz Composition with Dashboard Widget

I created a quartz composition that produces a visual effect at the location of the mouse pointer on the screen, it works how I want it. When I import it into a widget in Dashboard it no longer works with the location of the mouse like it does in the Quartz Composer or Quicktime.

How would I be able to have it set up so it interacts with the mouse in the Dashboard Widget aswell? Is it even possible?
