I posted a thread before but didn't get that many helpful answers because I didn't describe my problem in detail. My contact with ATT is up and I want to get an Iphone. Unfortunately they make you get the data plan which is useless to me because I have wii fi at school and home. Anyway I need to figure out how to get rid of the data plan. I googled it and found out some tips

I just want to basically have an ipod touch with the phone. No dataplan. I just hope that I can still use text messaging.

Should I buy a phone of ebay and put my sim card in it?
Should I upgrade with ATT and remove the dataplan after a month?
