iPod Do you have to put your iPod Touch/iPhone in DFU mode when upgrading to 3.0?

I have the firmware file and I know you have to do shift + restore to upgrade it, but do you have to put your iPod in DFU/recovery mode before upgrading?😕

no, and if you were to PURCHASE the upgrade you wouldn't even have to press that shift button.
