Merging 2 .AVI files and burn for DVD Player?

Hello Experts!
I have two .avi files. (1 movie cut in half). I am trying to merge these two files together and then burn it to dvd. I want to be able to play it in my dvd player.

Thanks in advanced for you help.

I work on a macbook pro.:confused:
