Can you connect a card reader to Itouch to play back video files?

I need a player that will read MicroSD cards to playback .MOV files that are H.264 encoded. I have seen card readers for older IPODs that will transfer photos. Has anyone been able to do this on the ITOUCH with Video?

What card readers worked with older iPods? I never saw one.
You can connect a card reader to the computer then transfer via iTunes.
