i check my free memory and i have 154.80 MB free is that good

Considering you have a 3GS, I don't think Free Memory is necessary anymore. Just saying.

I thought it was 256mb? Is iStat wrong?

what is iStat supposed to display?
it may only be displaying what is available for 3rd party apps, which would never be the full 256mb

Hotsnowboarder: Did you jailbreak your device? If you do, install SBSettings & press the respring button if it run out of free memory. Or Just reboot the iPhone to clear the memory.

For me on my 3GS,


I got total of 230mb. (free, inactive, active, wired)

Woah. I'm so used to seeing some 15MB free RAM on my original iPhone, this just looks crazy!
