I'm getting a laptop for school, which means I also get a free iPod Touch. If I don't open the packaging and keep the ipod sealed, will i be able to exchange it for the new Touch when it comes out? I am planning on buying the laptop on August 9th, which coincides with my state's tax-free holiday. Will Apple honor an exchange? A few of my friends were able to exchange their 1st gen. touches for 2nd gen. touches after they had had theirs and used them for well over a month.....Any answers would be helpful. THANKS!

It doesn't work like that. If you return an old iPod, you get 10% off a new one. You don't get an exchange because you're getting it free.

That makes sense. Thanks. I guess I'll just try to sell it to somebody before the new one comes out, and buy that one.
