Warcraft 3 TFT Freezes on "Downloading Updates"

Just installed TFT on my new 2.53 13" MBP. Single player seems to work, but when I click B.net, it says "downloading updates" and freezes shortly afterwards.

I tried downloading the latest install file from battle.net, and applying patches manually, but I still get this error. Anyone know how to solve this?
 
After uninstalling Divx, I was able to update to 1.23, but now I'm getting stuck (frozen) at "initiating connection to battle.net"...
