Q1):
I've been reading up quite a bit on cracked hinge issues that have plagued the MBA. It seems like the Rev A's are the ones that are affected but they only arose towards the end of 2008/early 2009. I'm guessing Apple probably wasn't aware of such a problem during the manufacture of Rev Bs so I'm guessing they too may potentially suffer cracked hinges......?
Are there any Rev B victims out there? Or are there signs of "slop"/loose hinges?
Q2): If this problem is unavoidable, is there a way to prolong the life of the hinge before the inevitable happens? Is the cause due repetitive opening and closing or is it due to force being acted on it when it's closed (eg if it's in a bag with books maybe)?
Thanks for your time
