SuperDrive inconsistency

It seems my mini DVD-R trouble isn't the only problem with my SuperDrive.

My SuperDrive burns music CD (iTunes) and movie DVD (iDVD) but will not burn normal Data CD! I tried Toast and Finder, but it will not burn Data CD. Has anyone experienced this problem? Any remedies you might recommend?
