I have an iPhone 3G 8GB and I decided to take the plunge and update from 3.0 to 3.0.1. During the update I got an error message and it suggested I restore the iPhone. I tried to restore the iPhone and itunes told me I had to 'restore and update'. It extracts the software fine, begins to prepare the iPhone for restore and then flashes up 'The iPhone "iPhone" could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (21).

I have tried restarting my MacBook as :apple: suggest but nothing seems to be working.
Has this got anything to do with 10.5.8? Any help would be appreciated!

P.S. my iPhone is NOT JB!

I have the same problem now my phone is dead. This is bad Apple, updates that kill phones. I'll have to go back to carrier pigeon.
