I'm trying to connect to my wireless router via Airport Extreme--it's a g-standard router, and I had it connected the other day (after much hard work and hair-pulling). Now it won't seem to connect--it'll identify the NETGEAR network, and then it has an error while it's authenticating and does not connect.

I've changed my password for the router (in it's browser interface) from the default...it's now six characters long.

When I try to configure it in Network Preferences, setting it to "Join Specific Network," things get WACKY. I type in my six-character password, and click APPLY--and two more dots appear. And I cannot connect wirelessly (no problems with a wired connection).

Now, is this a security feature, so nobody can see how many characters my password really is? Or is something seriously wrong?

I've tried to delete the password from my Keychain list...but it's not there. So I have no clue what is going on!

PB 12" Airport Extreme, NETGEAR WGR614...

Thanks.
