Hi,

searched the threads and found that to convert all avi files to mp4, you would need to use handbrake. What baffles me is that some of the video files that I have is a .rmvb file which opens with real media player and vlc.

However, I am unable to convert on handbrake. Handbrake shows "Source not found" whenever I try to convert. Can anyone advise how to convert or is there a work around solution?

Thanks in advance.

I like using VisualHub/iSquint. That might work. You could try to install perian and that possibly might help handbrake/quicktime work with those files.

Thanks. Was using squint too and it does not recognise he files. Handbrake by far is the most comprehensive one so I decided to switch. Will try to install perian and see if it works.

Installed perian. Still does not work.

Have you tried WinAvi mpeg4 convertor. I use it for all avi and am sure it does rm too. Good results and fast too. Takes around a quarter of the run time to convert.

VLC converts to some formats, but it's a little tricky. It may work as a gobetween tho. You could also look at Replay, but it's not free.

RVMB is proprietary. There isn't any conversion software available for it that I know of.

It's a biatch of a format and I thought it was dead.
