Safari Question Mark Icon

Just tried it, didn't change anything. The site in question: http://www.tippingpoint.com/company_about.html
Also, I'm using Safari 4.0.3 on OS X 10.5.8, but I've randomly been seeing this icon for years on random sites. It doesn't pop up much, but still. Also, would keeping the default encoding to Unicode be any benefit over the default (Western (ISO Latin 1))?

You know how you can type the Apple symbol like so <--- not the MR smilie but by pressing shift,alt,k. Windows computers can't see that.
I'd only assume there was a symbol typed in that can't be viewed on mac.

I'm running 10.3.9 on a iBook g4 and I don't see an Apple.
Also, I see a little different question mark on that page, so I'm assuming there's some problem with the code on that page.
It certainly is the degree symbol. Firefox was showing the question mark at first so I changed the encoding to Western (ISO-8859-1) and it showed the correct degree symbol instead.
