Set preferences/default views - playlists, etc.

Does anyone know of a way to set it up so that I have a default view when creating playlists? Each time I create a new playlist I have to hide some columns, move the ones I want around, add new ones, change the view to cover flow.

Would be great if I can go to the view I like and select it as the default view.

Am I missing something?
