Looking for a display - better panel or LCD?

I am going to be buying a new screen next month and I was wondering what would be the best feature out of these 2 to look for.

Would I be better going for a PVA panel vs TN or LED backlight vs CCFL?

Thanks

What will you be using it for mostly?

I do mostly web design, which does include graphic design but nothing that really requires 100% accurate colours.

Even if you don't need the best color, make sure you get one that has even values across the whole screen when viewed directly.

On mine the top of the screen is much darker than the bottom...

I think that one's a bit difficult as I think it's pretty much a lucky dip. I had 2 Dell screens exactly the same once but one had even colour and the other was rubbish.

I do know a fair bit about monitors and I know what I 'should' look for, but I also know LED displays are fairly new so don't know much about them.

Anyway, in particular, I am asking about PVA CCFL panel vs a TN LED panel, opinions regarding this would be helpful.

The specific monitors are the Samsung F2380 PVA Monitor vs the Samsung P2370L.

Thanks
