Thought Id start a thread to see what issues people are having with SL. I have it installed on my UMB, and some apps arent compatible yet with the OS upgrade. iStat for example is not compatible with SL yet, but they did state that they would be releasing an update very soon.

themepark doesn't work as well. Itunes statition wasn't working a few weeks ago, but now it is capable.

cyberduck is now compatable, sorta. I am unsure of any other apps being non compatable. Hopefully iStat is soon...

candybar IS compatable!

Official Mac OS X Snow Leopard Bugs, Questions and Application incompatibilty thread

Snow Leopard has made it across the world now, and soon enough, thousands of threads will be created about Snow Leopard. This thread is to post any bugs, comments, application incompatibilites and anything else about Snow Leopard. How did your install go? Any issues? Post your thoughts and comments about Mac OS X Snow Leopard, the next cat has arrived!

1. My home town doesn't work in the weather widget anymore.
2. Disk eject is a bit flakey.

Is anyone having troubles with Safari adBlock? seems to have disappeared since I upgraded. Just re-installed but still a no go...

So far...

1) Afloat plug-in doesn't' work on SL.
2) There is no 10.6 compatible printer driver for my Canon MP270 yet!

Other than that, its all fine and dandy!

Oh and...

3) Every time I try and go into the Connect360, DivX, Flip4Mac WMV, Perian and the Wacom Tablet preference panels System Preferences needs to restart. Not a huge problem, still annoying.

But can you still use the functionality.. ie can u watch movies on ur xbox still??

This will probably affect PS3 Medialink then!??

Yeah, the process that does the serving of the data still loads in the background when you log in. Medialink works for me here.

Wireless issues

Wireless is acting very weird. It'll behave fine for a while (hours), then will suddenly lose the connection to my router. I cannot reconnect to router without rebooting both the Mac AND the router.

However, I can connect to another wireless network OK without rebooting the Mac, but reconnecting to the router it "lost" earlier doesn't work (gets a connection timeout).

Interestingly, the router is still working for all other clients, it's just the Mac that can't reconnect until they're both rebooted. Hrm.

I'd advise everyone to not read about bugs! By reading the bugs that people point out, you'll be consciously aware of them and they'll bug you. However, if you do not read about bugs, you'll probably go about your happy business and enjoy Snow Leopard and you *most likely* run into problems.

I remember 2 years ago when Leopard came out. Everyone was yelling and screaming about this bug, and that bug... I really didn't find much wrong with Leopard and I thought it worked okay. I had some minor issues but only because I didn't like some of the "changes" they made in Leopard. After a few months, I began to welcome those changes (except for Spotlight) and all was well.

I think Leopard 10.5.8 is really nice and I'm hoping that 10.6.0 is even nicer.

Just got it installed, awsome operating system!

I'm just wondering, if you go in the activity monitor and you look where there is the kernel and itunes process, I notice they're not in 64-bit, is this normal?

Thanks.

Yes, that's normal. SL boots all consumer Macs into the 32-bit kernel and iTunes (along with DVD Player, Front Row and Grapher) are not 64-bit yet.

Occasionally, when my MacBook is disconnected from my external display, the desktop will have no icons, causing me to restart the finder in the force quit applications menu. This behavior has been present since Leopard (at least), and I've experienced the bug on more than one MacBook.

I'm curious, can anyone verify that the bug with iTunes is still present or not? That is, when a Mac is taken out of standby, and the lock screen comes up forcing you to enter a password, iTunes will report that a connected iPod (not iPhone) is corrupted.

its jsut the same compatibility problems as their was with tiger

they will get resolved when it is properly released

YES! That is really bugging the snot out of me, even though the restart is almost immediate.

just posted this elsewhere. on my 1st gen uMBP when using the 4 finger gesture to show all windows or move windows off screen when trying to use the gesture to bring the windows back, randomly they spring off screen again, the only way then to bring it back is to click on the windows that are off screen. This is random and intermittent.

Post your Snow Leopard Bugs/Finds

So far I have found that stacks are faded after they have been fanned out.
Edit: I also forgot to say that the QT looks better than what I thought it would. Once you try it out it is actually nice.

My Drobo wouldn't wake after several hours of sleep; I had to power cycle the Drobo to get it back. I haven't had time yet to figure out if this is SL or not, but I will let it sleep tonight and see if it wakes OK in the morning. If not I will try the same thing on Leopard.

My system is hanging (spinning beachball) every few minutes, and a reset of safari hasn't done the trick. This is on a 1 month 13" Macbook Pro.

Hoping 10.6.1 comes out soon!!!!! :(

Fonts are def worse for me (mac pro + dell 2408wfp)

Its almost impossible to read unbold fonts. Text just looks horrid.

The checkbox in system pref does nothing at all :/
