Not sure why this happens but the cursor moves but clicking login doesn't do anything like something is frozen also. I turn it off by holding the power button then turn it back on/boots and it lets me type my password. It does this every other time i reboot. I have ran single user mode but it still happens.
Is this firmware/efi related? If it is I'm screwed cause there isn't a Firmware Restoration cd for Macbook5,1
Update: Seems that the OS is hanging up and the keyboard caps light comes on when i touch it
