I have a friend who asked me to give them a hand setting up their wireless network. They were getting so-so connection with a few drop outs so I recommended them to upgrade to a Netgear WNR2000 Router. The connection works fine on two recent MBP's throughout the house, but their 2003 iBook and a PowerBook G4 Tit. (both running Tiger iirc) have issues reconnecting after waking up and continue to drop connection. If I fool around with the network settings (not sure exactly what I do to make it work) it will come back online, only to stop working shortly after I leave.

Does this sound more like a hardware/software issue with the older macs rather than the router and internet? Are there any settings I can play around with on the macs?

Also, the router is set to the most basic mode to conform with the older wireless standard the laptops have.

Any help?
