No "cent" key on the keyboard?

I can't find a "¢" key on the keyboard.
Is there one?
And if not, why not?
Threre is just about everything else!
just isnt the standard I guess...
people just do $0.29 or whatever... (assuming they are talking about american dollars)

I was talking about the iPhone silly rabbit!
I look at it as a convenient method of cutting down on people typing things like "oranges 3/ .99¢" or, worse, "oranges, 3/ $0.99¢". Sadly, I've seen both at the grocery store.

There isn't one on a standard keyboard, either. Frankly, the ¢ symbol itself is practically obsolete in modern usage. If I need to say three cents, I just write it out.
that reminds me of a taped conversation that a guy kept with AT&T a few years ago.. it was about data costing 0.01$ (1 cent) while being advertised at .01 cent (=0.0001$).. or something like that, i don't remember.
A nifty little work around is, you could email yourself the ¢ character, then copy and paste it into a note, then copy and paste that whenever you need it!

No, but there's an easy way to type ¢ on a standard keyboard*, just like ´ or or most other symbols. I too would think that it would be the same in the iPhone.
*it's option+4, btw.
What u can do is copy and paste "¢" into your notes and if u ever need it just copy and paste it where needed. I copied your "¢" from the OP into my notes.

Just use a c or a p (cents or pence), but in agreement with the rest of the thread please never use a decimal point if you're going to use either.
who even uses the cent symbol anyway? i would use $0.01 or just spell out "cent". but now that i think about it, i've never even needed to talk about cents without dollars. i dont even keep those sheckles in my wallet

What a joke. The the iPhone has no CENTS (key). What a crock. I'm a business person and I send and receive emails on my iPhone to people ALL OVER THE WORLD and I need to send quotes, yes in U.S. Dollars, to and from my iPhone, and I am dumbstruck that Apple in their uninfinite wisdom saw fit to not have, delete, remove, not eve add, a cent key on their iPhone keyboard. Obviously the suits are a couple of megs of ram short of a happy meal in Cupertino.
What's next, I have to turn off Push, WiFi, etc. to conserve battery life because the phone launches Mail, iPod & Safari without my asking. No, wait, it already does that!!! $700 bucks and no ¢ key, give me a freakin' break. Very suspect, indeed.

The cent symbol (¢) can be typed on iOS by holding down the dollar symbol ($) to access the extra characters associated with this key. This same method can be used on many other keys to access extra characters not present on the base keyboard, primarily accented letters.
