iPod Everything but audio books?

How can i sync everything EXCEPT audio books? i know i can check each playlist individually to sync but then some things which arnt part of playlists dont sync!😕
 
are they real audiobooks and are showing as such under ituens or are they mp3s that are audiobooks?
if so put the audiobooks under their own genre and then make a playlist that includes everything but does not contain the audiobook genre
