My 3 year old 2nd generation iPod nano's plastic top has popped up a few times, but yesterday it completely came off. I pounded it back on, and miraculously, the hold switch still works like a charm.

With the inevitable iPod lineup upgrade on Wednesday, I'm considering buying an new iPod, regardless of my old one's state.

Has this happened to anyone else? Will it continue to work, or will eventually break soon? Is tape enough to keep it together for another year?

Duct tape will do the job, but you can use this as an excuse for a new one. =D
