Can I use a hard drive with windows and mac partition?
I was thinking of picking up this hard drive
SeagateŽ FreeAgent™ Desk External USB 2.0 Hard Drive, 1TB (1,000GB)-http://www.officedepot.com/a/product...xternal-USB-2/
I was wondering if I could use it to back up both a windows and a mac partition(if this is a noob question, please don't flame me this is my first mac and external hard drive)

Yup, that's precisely what I did with mine.
I got the drive, connected it to my Mac, and then ran Disk Utility. I created 3 partitions. One with a Time Machine setup, 1 HFS+ (general Mac storage of stuff), and 1 FAT32 (for my gf's HP laptop, could have done NTFS, but it was easier just to do FAT32 real quick with Disk Utility).
I think I set the drive to MBR for the boot type, just so it could be used with my gf's PC more easily, but I don't remember off-hand.
