I just bought a 1 TB external hard drive. I hooked it up to my computer, and set it up with time machine. I didnt disable anything and just let it back up my whole computer. It took 3-4 hours to back up, and half way threw i got an error message. I didnt really pay any attention to the error message, hit "ok" and the backup resumed. When the backup was done I tried going into the external hard drive and opening my iphoto to see if my pictures were in there. It would not let me open iphoto because it said there was a problem.

Does anybody know what wrong? what should I do? Should I erase everything from the hard drive and try to back it up again?

Thanks

I would try to erase and back up again. Make sure you formatted your drive ok? If it is formatted windows it will have a write limit.

It seems like it may have stuttered.

Its a mac hard drive, so it comes formatted for the mac

To get my hard drive back to factory do I just move all the contents to the trash or do I need to do something special.
