Paid AIM app better than free version?

The paid version is practically the same thing as the free version. The only advantage is a landscape keyboard and no ads. My brother has both versions, and there is no real difference performance-wise. I would suggest Beejive, if you use more than one IM client. The app is a bit pricey at $9.99, but the quality is outstanding. There are many customization options, you can change the status of each individual client that you use, and most importantly you can stay logged in as long as 7 days. And of course it includes push notifications. It might be worth it, for $6.00 more.

Most likely the next version of Facebook will have push notifications. Whether that includes Facebook chat I am not sure. But it might be worth waiting before purchasing Beejive. For me, I have a lot of IM accounts so Beejive was well worth it.
I like the paid version of aim...the landscape mode makes a HUGE difference for me as far as typing goes. I hated using aim before I realized the paid version gave you landscape. There was also a update this week that "helped performance" or some such. For three bucks....I'd say it's worth it if you would like landscape mode(It was for me at least), but don't expect it to be waaaay different than the free version.
