When starting up my power mac g5 d1.8 it doesnt go to the normal screen.

It shows a square box with a globe in it and it flashs
then after 2 mins or so a folder comes up then the finder logo from the desktop with a ? mark on it.

then after like 2 min the system starts up normaly.

this has never happened before and it seems weird.

any help would be great!
thanks alot.

It seems like your computer is set to look for a volume on the network to boot to, that is what the globe in the box icon is. The folder with the question mark is your system looking for a volume to boot from locally, whether CD, Firewire or internal HD.

Go to system preferences and go to startup disk. Make sure you don't have networkboot selected, and make sure you have the MacOS folder selected that is on your internal hard drive, (or whatever HD you want to boot from).
