I'm trying to put together some video clips using iMovie.

Most of them are .MOV files. However, one of them is an MPG file and iMovie won't seem to accept this.

How can I convert this file to .MOV? I've tried converting it using a bunch of different programs, including quicktime pro, but i've experience a loss of sound, and iMovie still wouldn't take the file.

Any ideas?

I don't remember how to fix this, but what you have is a 'muxed' MPEG file. That means that the audio and video are interleaved and when you export QT will discard the audio data.
