This has probably been discussed, but I couldn't find anything.
What happens to The Apple Store's unsold stock, and the models they have on the floor for demos?
Do they send em back to Apple, Sell them cheaper, or trash em or what?

Sells at Previous Model Price

I just talked with someone at the Apple Retail store near me wondering the same thing, and they sell the previous models at a reduced price...which is usually like $100 less... a rate that doesn't convince me to buy the previous model when the new, more powerful model is so close within reach.

They could:

1) Keep some as reserves (they did similar things with old iPod's)
2) Sell to other company
3) Back to Apple and they sell at reduced price

They must end up with loads of unsold machines, even with their strict stock control, refurb sales and discount sales to staff.

What do they do, recycle the parts?
