A wee bit expensive
Speaking as someone who's been in the media, I love the AP Stylebook, but I'm not gonna pay twice the suggested retail price of the spiral-bound print edition (and three times Amazon's rate fpr the regular binding) to have it on my cell phone. Why is it that despite not having to pay for paper and distribution, AP is charging more? Drop the price by 50 percent and then we'll talk.

*Shrugs* Having this kind of information readily accessible is pretty great—at least it is if you have a use for this information. I'm not overly concerned with the cost of a book relative to the app. For me, $29 was worth it. I purchased this one after about an hour of consideration.

I hope the journalists can write it off or get reimbursed by work. As for me, it'll be simpler to have a print copy for reference purposes.

I REALLY want this app and have been hoping for even a better Web-based version of the stylebook, but damn that's a lot of money. I think I paid $10 for my paperback. I work for a newspaper, how much money do they think I have?

Yeah...I think they are playing on the demand factor. I think $10 would be more than fair. I'm not paying $30 for it.

What I wonder is if they are going to charge for the yearly updates? For $30 I think I'd rather have a hard copy at a 1/2 the price.
